With both grandfathers having been prisoners of war in Germany, she felt passionately about honoring the life and services of the soldiers at war. Severine eventually studied English language, history, and tourism at the University of Caen, further solidifying her passion for the subject.

Severine worked at Utah Beach Museum in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont for twenty years, serving as General Manager for the past six years. After pursuing higher education in the United States, her husband and President of the company, Ed Diaz, moved to France to pursue his career. Working at the Utah Beach Museum together, Severine and Ed realized they could combine their excitement and motivation to expand their field further. Their epiphany eventually led to the inception of Beaches of Normandy Tours and the tour operator’s Band of Brothers journeys in 2021.
