Actress Lilly Dennis is Taking Over Hollywood
March 22, 2019 – Lilly Dennis is a young, talented actress that hails from the small island of Tasmania, who is now making waves in Hollywood. Dennis grew up in the theater world playing iconic roles all the way through her childhood; including Helena in Shakespears A Midsommer Night’s Dream to starring in the play Mean Girls playing the role of Janis Ian. Nothing held her back from taking leading roles on the stage, even in her teenage years. After graduating from the her performing arts school in Tasmania she was offered a scholarship to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. It was there she graduated at The Dolby Theater, home to the Oscars where she was the guest speaker. It was very clear from the get-go that this young actor would take Hollywood by storm.
Lilly then launched herself onto the world of Hollywood, starring in comedic and dramatic roles right off the bat. She quickly became known for her raw talent and natural ability to morph from character to character, and while many type-cast her into comedic roles, especially after her hilarious role in Sandy Martins’ web series, Good Job Thanks! She proved that she was able to do it all, particularly with her latest film, Still Here, produced by Warner Brothers in association with North Star Film Company and AT&T. The film centers around a young woman, played by Dennis, who has lost her best friend to cancer however the spirit of her friend refuses to leave, the film is a very dark and beautiful story about love and loss.
With many talented young actors on the rise in Hollywood what sets Ms. Dennis apart is her determination to make it on Broadway at the same time. This past year her solo show Chocoholic, was in United Solo Theater Festival on Theater Row and won Best Solo Show at the United Solo Gala; alongside her fellow award winner, Oscar Nominee Renee Taylor who won the United Solo Special Award. Chocaholic tells the hilarious yet heartbreaking story of a young woman and her chocolate addiction and the truth behind it. The Tasmanian actress is set to reprise her role in Chocoholic again later this year on Broadway. Fans are also excited to see the newly released film, Dr. Phlill, in which Dennis stars in, as a reality TV therapist-wannabe and the film has just been picked up to be turned into a series. Lilly Dennis is a star on the rise, and we are readily awaiting her next amazing performance, either on stage or screen.
