RIBA Venues – Technology is becoming a Necessity in Conference Rooms

The digital age is amongst us with technology very much a part of our lives and none more so than in the workplace.

20 April, 2015 – United Kingdom – Technology has transformed the workplace over the years and the advent of the internet age is having a similar affect now. It is estimated that there are 2,571,700,018 internet users in the world and that every day people send more than one billion emails. This is more than double what people sent ten years ago, mainly because of increased connectivity and the advent of smart phones.

It is essential for all conference rooms to now have a good internet connection otherwise it is likely to hamper productivity and frustrate attendees.”

“Five years ago, good internet access in conference rooms wasn’t an important consideration for decision-makers, nor was it readily available. Docking and charging stations which allow for device projection and sharing were rare but as mobile devices have become more advanced and companies have started to benefit from new features, it has become apparent that to book a venue outside of work without the technology required to keep attendees connected is archaic.”

“Just as consumers now expect to be able to access content online immediately, employees expect to have the tools that are necessary to perform work-related tasks wherever convenient and managed by the company they work for. For this reason, the level of technology in a conference room must not be an after-thought. Mobile devices are now an indispensable part of our lives.”

Companies are advised to always take into account the technology available when booking to meet the needs of all attendees. Venues that offer conference room hire like RIBA, have had to ensure that their venues are up to date with all of the latest technology and have a fast internet connection.
