How Women Around The World Are Battling Their Thyroid Condition Without Medication

Kat Ostroumova is a women’s health and fitness coach who wants to raise awareness of the importance of getting your thyroid checked out, and not relying on meds alone, because proper diet, exercise, vitamins and a balanced lifestyle will work wonders for the condition.

More than 12% of women in the US alone will develop a thyroid condition. 60% of people are unaware of having this condition. Once women do become aware of it, they go on medication but symptoms still keep occurring and, more often than not, can get worse with time.

Kat personally took back control of her life from hypothyroidism after losing over 40 pounds and reversing all of her symptoms, and has now dedicated her life to helping other women suffering from the same affliction.

Kat reveals that thyroid conditions can be incredibly frustrating to live with. You may feel like you’re doing everything “right” – eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and taking your medications as prescribed – but you’re still dealing with bothersome symptoms like weight gain, brain fog, hair loss, and more.

If this sounds familiar, it’s possible that you have a thyroid condition that has yet to be diagnosed.

Kat says the good news is that there are many ways you can manage your thyroid condition and improve your quality of life. Diet, exercise, supplements, and a healthy lifestyle are all essential pieces of the puzzle. Here are a few tips to help get you started:

1) Make sure you’re getting enough iodine. Iodine is essential for proper thyroid function, and many people with thyroid conditions are deficient in this nutrient. Good sources of iodine include seaweed, seafood, and eggs.

2) Consume plenty of protein. Protein is essential for maintaining healthy muscle mass and preventing weight gain. It’s also important for keeping your energy levels up. Try to include a protein-rich food at every meal.

3) Avoid goitrogens. Goitrogens are substances that can interfere with thyroid function. Foods that are high in goitrogens include raw broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, and soybeans. If you have a thyroid condition it’s best to avoid these foods as much as possible.

4) Get regular exercise. Exercise is not only good for your overall health but it can also help improve thyroid function. Try to get at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week.
